Chevrolet Coupe (1940) - When Chevrolet launched their new model in 1940 it was significant. It was their first car to use both plastics and stainless steel, and, interestingly, while being very basic underneath, famous racing driver Juan Manual Fangio managed to win the 6,000-mile (9654km) Gran Primo Internacional Del Norte race in Argentina, South America in a Business Coupe just like this. Chevrolets often come second in popularity to Ford when creating street rods, but not in this case.
This version has had a separate chassis built based on the original rails, with independent A-arm front and Jaguar independent rear suspension. The brakes are large discs all around with powerful four-pot callipers. The engine is a Corvette small-block Chevy with three two-barrel carburettors, which uses the centre carb on light throttle then all three on full throttle. It has all-electric Corvette seats.
